The FTCC Small Business Center works with owners of existing businesses and entrepreneurs starting businesses in Cumberland County. The experienced Small Business Center staff, presenters and counselors can help you get started on the right path towards success. The FTCC Small Business Center provides free, confidential counseling services for new and existing businesses. Our experienced counselors can help guide you through the process of starting your new enterprise or growing your current business. All of the Business Counselors are successful entrepreneurs who can use their experience to help you navigate your entrepreneurial journey.

Military
Active Duty, Veteran, retired or transitioning military personnel… and Milspouses… have proven to be 69% more likely to succeed than the typical “civilian” entrepreneur. The traits that were ingrained during your service, can now serve you well as a business owner. Although there are many excellent business services specifically for our military community, the FTCC Small Business Center works with many current, past and transitioning members of the military family to help them find their “next career”.

Upcoming Events
North Carolina’s Small Business websiteprovides access to hundreds of upcoming seminars, events and webinars. Registration is free for North Carolina residents.
1 Million Cups provides educational sessions about different businesses and resources throughout the community. Each Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 am, a different entrepreneur will talk about their business and the challenges they are facing. The audience, made up mostly of small business owners, helps the presenter brainstorm some potential solutions. It’s a fun and enlightening way to make new connections and give back to the community… and it’s free!
The Small Business Summit is held annually on the first Friday in May during the SBA’s National Small Business Week. (When there’s not a pandemic.) Keep a lookout for upcoming announcements. The Small Business Summit features speakers that address many of the problems, and opportunities, that you are facing. This free event will be listed on the SBCN website.
