The Recruit may not be the freshest chip off the old block, but it employs Noah Centineo's considerable charms to highly watchable effect.

The Recruit: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Wenlei Ma News.com.au The Recruit is ultimately too lightweight and bewildering to be anything more than an empty star vehicle. Jan 2, 2023 Full Review The Recruit: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Nick Allen RogerEbert.com The Recruit is far too amused with its wordiness in sharing the stuff that happens between cubicles at Langley, and it kills what little momentum the series gathers. Dec 19, 2022 Full Review The Recruit: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Lauren Sarner New York Post “The Recruit” has its fun moments, but as a whole, it’s a misfire. Centineo seems eager to graduate from high school roles without first putting in the work. Dec 18, 2022 Full Review The Recruit: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu The Netflix show, starring a charming Noah Centineo, is populated with a roster of quirky characters, and is breezy and bingeable fun. Jon G I loved it and I highly recommend it! Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Patrick L The Audience score has got it right again! This is brilliant, quirky and different from other spy genre stories.Only disappointment being the assination attempt chase in Vienna with guns in public but no shots fired by assasins on bridge and in water being ridiculous.4 episodes in let's hope there are no pointless cookie cutter T bone car crashes or being grabbed at last minute falling of cliff scenes. So far the plot does not disappoint.Interesting that the professional reviewers have got it wrong again. Why are they the only ones listed on Wikipedia. Seems like innaccurate/incomplete information. Is this just Wikipedias not so covert censorship again!Cheers Frederick Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review TW D It started off interesting, but by episode 4 I began debating whether I wanted to suffer it out to see how they ended the story. I'm not sure if they were going for an edgier "Chuck" or "Suits," but the line they tried to hit with the drama-comedy just wasn't clicking. The tired trope of being in love with the ex-girlfriend, with the twist that they live together, didn't help. It showed promise to start, so I may tough out the last few episodes to see if it picks up, but it has been disappointing overall. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/29/24 Full Review Darryl S This could have been really good, but it veers into awkward comic moments that do not fit. There is a serious thread to the story, but we have the idiot people in charge and agents that seem to be playing at the job. There are the obvious holes in the plot and stuff that would never happen in real life, but I could have gone with that. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/23/24 Full Review Paul P I can't tell if this is supposed to be a serious series or a parody of the type. It comes across like it is trying to be serious... but then comes across as parody at times and it is jarring. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Toms c Great cast, good pace, enough fun to keep me entertained. I enjoyed this to the end.
